Jerry van Hees
Jerry was born on the east coast and studied forestry at Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York. When he finished college, Jerry moved to Central Oregon where he began working for the Forest Service in timber sale preparation. Despite subsequent jobs working for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Bureau of Land Management, Jerry always found himself returning to the Forest Service. Jerry spent a total of 35 years with the Forest Service in Oregon and California in positions as Logging Systems Specialist, Law Enforcement Officer, Timber Management Officer, and Contracting Officer for timber sales in Region 5. As an avid outdoorsman, Jerry has is always out in the woods fly fishing, hunting, going on pack trips, or just enjoying the scenery with his wife, son, and granddaughter.
