Scott retired from the Forest Service as a Supervisory Forester with 32 years of experience planning and implementing forest management programs and projects in California. As a California Consultant, Scott will monitor the Lassen, Plumas, Modoc, and Tahoe National Forests.
He most recently served as Forest Silviculturist and Vegetation Management Officer on the Lassen National Forest providing leadership in forest management and burned area restoration. Scott was also a District Silviculturist, Timber Management Officer and Level III Contracting Officers Representative. He has also held positions in timber sale planning and timber sale preparation. As Interdisciplinary Team Leader, Scott completed environmental assessment and environmental impact statement documentation and prepared/approved silvicultural prescriptions to accomplish thousands of acres of fuels and forest health treatments as part of the Herger Feinstein Quincy Library Group (HFQLG) Forest Recovery Act Pilot Project.
Scott completed the Natural Resource Institute (NRI) and graduate coursework in advanced silviculture and forest ecology (University of Washington, Oregon State University, and Washington State University) to fulfill USDA Forest Service educational requirements for silvicultural certification in 1999.
