Forest Products Industry Responds to BLM Draft Resource Management Plans

Tom Partin, President of the American Forest Resource Council issued the following statement on the release of the BLM’s draft Resource Management Plans for six districts in Western Oregon encompassing over 2.5 million acres of BLM-managed forestland, including the Oregon & California (O&C) Grant Lands.

Wyden Bill – Next Step in O&C Land Discussions

On November 26, Oregon Senator Ron Wyden released his long-awaited legislative proposal for reforming the management of Western Oregon’s O&C forest lands. It follows the recent passage of the bipartisan O&C Trust, Conservation and Jobs Act resulting from a compromise forged by Congressmen Peter DeFazio, Greg Walden, and Kurt Schrader.
